Having to undergo surgery is never fun. The pain, the recovering, the scarring – it’s a lot to deal with. And especially when you have already gotten used to that foot or ankle pain you’ve been experiencing for years. Maybe you are even thinking that to deal with your pain is a much easier option compared to “cutting into your body.”
But what if we told you that all these hindering factors are a thing of the past?
What if we told you that painful recovery and unsightly scarring no longer have to be part of undergoing foot or ankle surgery?
Well, here’s the thing:
We can tell you both of those – and we back it up because that’s exactly what you can get with the HyProCure option we offer right here at our Illinois office!
What is HyProCure?
The HyProCure surgery is a minimally invasive technique used to realign and restore balance to the foot. During this procedure, a small incision is made in the skin to allow the surgeon to place a small titanium stent into the naturally occurring space between the ankle and heel bones.
This tiny stent allows for full range of motion of the foot while protecting the ankle from bone damage. Once in place, the device instantly realigns and stabilizes your hindfoot, thereby moving your foot, ankle, hips, and knees back into proper alignment. Your weight is rebalanced into a healthy configuration, and pressure is taken off sensitive joints – and it all happens while very little pressure is actually placed on the stent itself.
If that’s not enough, you will also find improved range of motion in your ankle and may even notice your arch return to a more normal shape.
What’s best – other than a small incision, there are no other techniques used in the procedure. No screws are needed, and there is no surgical drilling!
What Issues Can Be Treated by HyProCure?
Bunions, tendinitis, plantar fasciitis – these are all common conditions amongst our patients. Though these conditions may cause pain and discomfort, they aren’t exactly the root cause of most foot and ankle problems.
When we dive deeper, we find that misalignment is the real culprit.
Indeed, when your feet cannot distribute your weight and external forces in a normal, healthy fashion due to misalignment, that’s when problems start to arise. So, treating secondary problems alone may not get you the relief you need. Sure, you might be able to manage your symptoms a little better, but the underlying cause still remains.
Now you may be asking yourself what we mean by “misalignment.”
Well, misalignment of the feet essentially happens when the ankle joint shifts slightly out of place in relation to the heel bone. And it doesn’t take much before you actually start feeling the consequences – a misaligned foot can create big problems throughout your entire body, from your knees and hips to your back and even neck!
The short answer here is:
HyProCure can treat most kinds of foot problems that are caused by unbalanced and misaligned feet, including heels spurs, Achilles tendinitis, hammertoes, and much, much more.
What are the Benefits of HyProCure?
Traditional surgery to correct conditions of the foot and ankle often requires large incisions, plates or screws, and a lengthy recovery period. Not to mention that bones, tendons, and ligaments may need to be cut, transferred, or realigned. And though these types of surgeries are typically effective, they are major procedures with considerable risk of infection, and require lengthy recovery time.
On the other hand, minimally invasive HyProCure surgery only requires a small incision, and while the stent is positioned in soft tissues inside the naturally occurring gap, no bones or tendons need to be cut or fused – which means no screws and no plates!
Because of this, the HyProCure technique comes with many benefits, including:
- Much quicker recovery time. We recommend you stay off your feet as much as possible for the first few days following surgery. Usually you can ditch the crutches after just 3-5 days.
- Much lower risk of infection. Since the incisions made are so small and the time required to complete the procedure is so short, risk of infection is naturally much lower.
- Much lower chance of scarring. Even if you do develop a scar after completely healing from the procedure, chances are that it will be barely visible.
- Much less pain. As a minimally invasive surgery, surrounding tissues are less effected by this procedure, which translates into less discomfort as you recover.
- And, no hospital stays are required! Shortly after the procedure is completed, you are able to recover from the comfort of your own home.
Did we mention that minimally invasive surgeries, like HyProCure stents, can also save you money? Less time spent on the operating table means less anesthesia needed to keep you sedated, and all of that translates into a more cost-effective treatment option that lets you keep more money in your pocket!
